Privacy and data use
Privacy Notice
This notice explains what Lou-Re collects, why it is used, which providers help deliver the service, and how owners and callers can exercise privacy rights.
Effective August 20, 2026. This operational policy is intended for attorney review before full commercial launch.1. Who is responsible
Lou-Re operates the receptionist platform and acts as the controller of account, website, and billing data. For call information, Lou-Re generally processes data for the business that activated the receptionist, and that business also decides why the call is handled and what information is collected.
Lou-Re is in a pre-commercial pilot. Its final legal entity name and mailing address must be published here before paid launch. Until then, privacy questions and rights requests are accepted through the privacy request form.
2. Information collected
- Owner account data: name, email, password hash, recovery-code hash, session data, and acceptance records.
- Business configuration: business name, phone number, services, hours, policies, scripts, call playbooks, calendar preferences, voice settings, and transfer number.
- Caller and call data: caller ID, the information a caller chooses to provide, language, transcript text, call summary, category, duration, appointment details, and consent status. Lou-Re does not currently store call audio.
- Outbound outreach data: recipient name and phone number, scheduled time, owner-approved reason and instructions, language, consent confirmation, call status, outcome, opt-out status, and an optional secure website link.
- Calendar data: availability, blocked time, customer contact details, assigned employee, notes, and appointment details stored in the private Lou-Re Calendar.
- Billing data: package, credit, transaction status, and payment-provider identifiers. Lou-Re does not receive full card numbers.
- Security data: essential authentication cookies, request timestamps, and limited operational logs used to prevent fraud and keep the service available.
3. How information is used
Lou-Re uses data to create and secure accounts, answer and route calls, follow the business's approved playbooks, create requested appointments, provide reports, calculate minutes, process purchases, respond to privacy requests, investigate abuse, and comply with law. Data is not used to build advertising profiles.
4. Artificial intelligence and call transcription
Lou-Re uses artificial intelligence to understand requests, draft spoken responses, and summarize call outcomes. Calls receive an AI and transcription notice before the receptionist continues. A caller who does not consent should not continue through the AI flow. Businesses may not remove Lou-Re's required baseline disclosure.
Lou-Re instructs the receptionist not to request Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, full payment-card or bank details, passwords, authentication codes, detailed health records, or similarly sensitive secrets. Callers should not provide them.
5. Service providers and disclosures
Lou-Re uses contracted infrastructure, AI, speech, telephony, calendar, and payment providers only to operate the service. Depending on the activated features, these may include Cloudflare, Google Cloud, OpenAI, Twilio or Telnyx, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Google Calendar, and Stripe. The current list and each provider's role appear on the service providers page.
Lou-Re does not sell personal information and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be disclosed when required by law, to protect people or the service, during a lawful business transaction, or to providers working under service obligations.
6. Retention and deletion
Account and business data is kept while the account is active. Call reports and transcripts are kept so the business can review and follow up on calls, and can be deleted through account controls or a verified request. Lou-Re keeps only the limited billing, security, fraud-prevention, or legal records that must be retained after deletion. Provider copies and backups may take additional time to expire.
Lou-Re does not currently offer file uploads and has no public customer-upload bucket. If uploads are introduced, this notice and the deletion controls must be updated before release.
7. Choices and privacy rights
Depending on location, a person may request access, a portable copy, correction, deletion, restriction or objection, withdrawal of consent, or an appeal. California residents may also request information about collection and disclosure, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and receive equal service. Mexico residents may exercise access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition rights (ARCO) and limit use or disclosure.
Submit a request through the privacy request form. Lou-Re will verify identity before disclosing or deleting data and will respond within the legally required period. Authorized agents may be asked for proof of authority. Lou-Re will not discriminate for exercising a privacy right.
8. Security
Lou-Re uses encrypted transport, private databases, hashed passwords, secure session cookies, restricted management credentials, provider signature checks, and access controls. No system is risk-free. Lou-Re maintains an incident-response process and will provide legally required notice of a qualifying breach.
9. International processing
Lou-Re is designed for a United States and Mexico pilot. Providers may process information in other countries where they operate. Lou-Re does not activate other regions until their legal, language, and data-transfer requirements have been reviewed.
10. Children and regulated information
Lou-Re is a business service for adults and is not directed to children under 13. It is not currently approved for emergency dispatch, HIPAA-regulated health information, legal representation, credit decisions, or other regulated workflows unless Lou-Re provides a written addendum for that use.
11. Changes and contact
Material changes will be dated and, when required, shown in the portal before they apply. Questions, complaints, and privacy requests can be submitted through the privacy request form. A Spanish pilot notice is available here.
