Caller transparency
AI Call and Transcription Notice
What callers hear, what the system does, and which safeguards apply to every Lou-Re call.
Effective August 20, 2026. This operational policy is intended for attorney review before full commercial launch.Required opening notice
Before handling the substance of an inbound call, Lou-Re states that the caller has reached an AI receptionist and that the call may be transcribed to help the business respond. Lou-Re asks the caller to confirm before continuing. The business may add stricter language but may not remove this baseline notice.
If a caller does not consent
Lou-Re does not continue the AI conversation or save a business transcript. When an approved human transfer is available, the caller may be transferred; otherwise the automated session ends. The provider may retain limited connection or security logs under its own schedule.
What is processed
Speech is converted to text so the receptionist can answer. AI services generate a response and a factual call summary. Speech services read the response aloud. Lou-Re currently stores the transcript and summary, not call audio. Businesses can request deletion of call history.
Emergency and crisis limits
Lou-Re is not 911, emergency dispatch, a crisis counselor, or a substitute for a professional. When the caller describes immediate danger or self-harm, the receptionist must stop the normal business flow, direct the caller to local emergency help, and provide supported crisis resources. In the United States, call or text 988; in Mexico, call Línea de la Vida at 800 911 2000. For immediate danger, call 911.
Outbound calls
When the business schedules an outbound call, Lou-Re identifies itself as that business's AI assistant, gives the transcription notice, and stays on the owner-approved purpose. The feature is limited to existing customers and people who asked for or lawfully consented to the contact. Purchased lists, cold campaigns, repeated calls after an opt-out, hidden AI identity, and unlawful telemarketing are prohibited.
Lou-Re records a do-not-call request and ends the AI session. Businesses remain responsible for consent records, calling-hour and registration rules, internal suppression lists, and any stricter law that applies. Lou-Re does not currently send appointment-reminder or booking-confirmation text messages.
For payment outreach, Lou-Re may offer an owner-approved secure link. It does not request full card, bank, password, tax-ID, or security-code information over the call.
Business responsibilities
Businesses must provide a non-AI contact option when legally required, keep transfer contacts current, avoid sensitive-data collection, and tell Lou-Re about any industry-specific rules. Callers can submit an access or deletion request using the privacy request form.
